The Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF)

Mission: To provide one-time assistance to help low-income households with utility and rent/mortgage assistance.

The Emergence Assistance Fund assists with one-time aid to residents of the following areas: Aberdeen, Atlantic Highlands, Belford, Cliffwood, Hazlet, Highlands, Holmdel, Keansburg, Keyport, Leonardo, Lincroft, Matawan, Middletown, Port Monmouth, Red Bank and Union Beach.

In some special cases, we may help with auto repair, extending into cities beyond those listed above. Please call or email us first to see if you qualify.

Please submit the completed EAF form with the following documents:

A copy of (documents will not be returned):

* Photo IDs of all adults.
* Pay stubs (household income for 1 month) and/or any paperwork documenting monthly income amount (eg social security).
* If applicant has any rental assistance (eg Section 8), documents verifying amount is also required.
* If mortgage or utility assistance is needed: The latest bill
* If rental assistance is needed” The rental lease along with the landlord’s name, address and telephone number.

The EAF form and documents can be faxed to the number indicated above, emailed to the address below or mailed to Community Outreach Group, PO Box 4041, Middletown, NJ 07748.

Documents may be dropped off in the Calico Cat Thrift Shoppe (EAF lockbox) or the Calico Cat Cupboard & Pantry. Check their individual tabs for their operating hours. Directions are in the Directions tab.

Responses will usually be made within 7-14 days.
